paritee is a songwriting and performance project initiated by guitarist Ricky Thelen, who grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada, as the son of German immigrants, and Düsseldorf pianist and keyboarder Thomas Ries (papatee).
We develop our shared store of ideas for instrumental music with real passion and devotion to detail. Our style is infused with diverse influences from jazz, pop, Latin and folk.
By combining acoustic instruments with electronic sounds and rhythms, we hope to capture certain moods, images and sensations and transport these to the listener.
paritee ist ein Songwriting und Performance Projekt des Gitarristen Ricky Thelen, der als Sohn deutscher Einwanderer auf Vancouver Island (Kanada) aufgewachsen ist, und des Düsseldorfer Pianisten und Keyboarders Thomas Ries (papatee).
Mit großer Leidenschaft und Liebe zum Detail entwickeln wir unsere gemeinsamen instrumentalen Songideen, die sich stilistisch an Jazz, Pop, Latin und Folk Elementen orientieren.
Mit der Kombination von akustischen Instrumenten und elektronischen Klängen und Rhythmen versuchen wir bestimmte Stimmungen, Bilder und Emotionen musikalisch zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
